Having seen the positive response to tri-color wedding bands, and to bands with multiple metal strands, jewelers have now offered 3 piece wedding bands. Some of these wedding rings are quite elegant.

In elegant wedding bands that are 3 piece, alterations in the type and arrangement of a gemstone can create differences between the 3 bands. In these unique wedding bands, jewelers normally use only one type of metal.

In the case of a simpler 3 piece wedding band, a jeweler might use two or three different metals; often white gold and titanium in the ring. Such a wedding band would then have two to three different tones. Of course, a person does not usually want to wear three wide bands.

For that reason, the makers of 3 piece wedding bands normally produce thin bands. Consumers should know something about the sizing of thin bands. A thin band generally keeps the form that meets with previously measured ring sizes. A wide band often needs to be one half to one size larger than the wearer’s normal ring size.
