A bride often considers her hair updo as important as her wedding dress during her special day. In fact, wedding updos can add a dash of style to any wedding. An updo usually means a hairstyle that involves pinning the hair up so that is off the neck, and designing wedding hair updos calls for some meticulous planning. Choosing a suitable hairstyle is not at all easy; one has to consider a number of factors in making the choice. The difficulty is particularly pronounced for those women having long hair.

One such extremely important factor while choosing wedding updos is the shape of the bride’s face. This is so because certain styles of updos are suitable for faces of a particular shape. If a different style is chosen, it might be disastrous for that particular shape of face. Most of us are familiar with the fact that some hairstyles may make a round face appear even rounder while other hairstyles may create a different look.

Most of them draw their inspiration from those magazines or websites that deal exclusively with weddings. Seeing models with various hairstyles, they can form an idea about the types of style that are likely to suit them and hair updos for the wedding. But here again, the faces of the models are important. If they have face shapes which are similar to the bride’s own, these styles will in all probability suit you. But if the models have faces which have no similarity with that of the bride, the result is not likely to be encouraging.

The next step requires visit to a salon to experiment with different styles. If you already have a trusted hairstylist, you can choose him/her to complete your wedding day look. You may seek your friends’ advice as well. Otherwise you will have to visit a few salons to see pictures of their previous work before making your final choice. Once the stylist is finalized, you can do a trial run and see how the hairstyle looks. It is better to have the trial run with various wedding updos close to the date of the wedding. It will keep your hair relatively similar to how it will be on the wedding day.
