Every last detail matters when you are planning your wedding. From start to finish every bride worries about the small details and the overwhelming details like flowers, seating and cake. Yes the food that you serve at your wedding is the food that everyone will be talking about for weeks months and even years to come, so make sure it will do you and your husband to be justice.
Choosing the right caterer can be a headache at first but will be worth the effort in the end. Themed weddings sometimes bring to the minds of your guests a theme entre so this is something that may need to be considered. If you are having an Asian themed wedding, or even an old Spanish themed wedding, this could help in narrowing the playing field for what type of food that you serve. Try also to be mindful of the number of guests that you have attending this will prevent a shortage of food, and can in the end save you the time of worrying that you will run out. Also keep in mind some guest may want alternative meals for health reasons, or even just plain pickiness. Either way be prepared to indulge their needs or desires ahead of time, and have your maid of honor help you track who and how many individuals may not want the entre you select. Your maid of honor along with family and friends are there to help ease the wedding preparation issues, and often are more than willing to assist.
Also be prepared, and try to not forget the little ones that will be attending and may even be a part of the wedding. Some little ones may also have special needs, and of course what bride wants to leave out even the smallest of guests. Great ideas for little ones are easy and most caterers have handle these situations with flying colors and often can provide you the bride with what ever tools she needs to handle their needs?
No one wants to forget the cake or cakes that you may choose. Planning ahead to have your wedding cake, the groom cake or even individual cakes will help ease the stress of not knowing what to serve later. Many brides have all 3 at their wedding to accommodate as many guests as possible with different flavors, and styles for their guest to choose from. For example, often brides order a spice cake or white cake for the centered wedding cake, with a groom’s cake made of chocolate, and cupcakes of many flavors for guests to choose from. The great thing about having all three available insures you will satisfy as many guests as you can, as they enjoy your special day with you. Cupcakes also help the little hands of those adorable “little” guests who attend and can help ease the stress of the parents who brought the children, by giving them an option that is “perfect” sized just for those adorable small hands.
