Bridal shower is an event done usually 2 weeks before the wedding day. It is a sort of female bonding. The friends of the bride and groom are usually the ones who are invited during the bridal showers. Bridal showers are usually hosted by the maid of honor. It can be at the maid of honor’s house, the bride’s house or at the restaurant.
Sometimes, not all the guests in a bridal shower know each other. Creating such a party would allow your guests to know each other is a good icebreaker. There are so many bridal shower games that you can do.
One of the bridal shower party game icebreakers is find your match; it can also be called as the lover’s game. Make a card and write the names of the famous lovers in history, fictional or non fictional. Example, Romeo and Juliet. Ask your guests to pick one card and then tell them to find their match. Make sure that the names are familiar so that your guests will not be mismatched. However, those instances can also seem to be funny.
This game is simple, that is why there are variations made in this type of game. One of the ways to make guests converse with each other is by not telling them the identity of their chosen character. The identity is not given and only one person knows the identity of the person. This may seem to be confusing at first but the main goal of this game is to create an interaction between all the guests specially those who do not know each other.
Another variation to play this game is by creating props. The guest will tell their identity by the props that they will use and then they will find the identity of their match in the same manner. Some guests do not know the identity of their character so they will have to make a guess. Props are easy to make, they don’t have to be expensive. Just as long as the guests can clearly interpret their character with the props, it is ok.
Another effective feature of the bridal shower party that it proves to be funny and heartfelt and is as simple as stating your relationship with the bride and sharing your fun memories together. Another variation of this game is by writing down the memories or the events and then let the bride guess who wrote the story. Assign someone to read the stories. Do not allow the bride to read the letters because she might recognize the handwriting. This is one way of reminiscing the old times as the bride will step onto a new life in the weeks to come. The person who is giving the message can also state why she chose to give that kind of gift for the bridal shower. To make this game even more successful, inform everyone about it before the event. That way, they can prepare what to say on the occasion.
The bridal shower is an enjoyable experience that everybody will cherish for the years to come.
