| I found a few neat links I thought I'd share. This first one shows a way to ice the cake upside down - so the top is nice and smooth and professional looking: Upside Down Icing Technique And this is a video showing how easy it is to make pretty roses! | Thanks for the links. =] I don't know if I would wanna make my own cake. Seems like I would be too nervous about everything else to take the time to make one.

| Hello Definitely i'll check your link. I'm also considering making my own. I'm looking into an icing class at the moment. My only concern is really how far in advance can you make a cake if it's not fruit or chocolate biscuit? Would I have to be baking the day before? Also I'm worried about transporting it. If I had it made then they would deal with that. If you made cupcakes instead of a cake then it'd be easy. You can get those icing pens and make it an activity for everyone! Thanks
