| Does the pastor choose the ceremony reading or is this something that we can do? I want something said that is more symbolic of our relationship and doesn't sound like a stamped out reading. |

| Frankly saying i also dont have an idea. But i think the pastor might be reading all the ceremony. and if at all i got something for you i will paste immediately.

| You should have a frank discussion about your desire for a personal ceremony. Your officiant may have their own very firm ideas and religious restrictions pertaining to this. He/she may be bound by legal and or religious dictates. So it is important to get to this issue at the beginning. If your officiant will not or can not accomodate your wishes you may have to seek out someone else depending on how important this is to you. Perhaps as compromise you can incorporate a reading, prayer or song that has special meaning to you... or personalize your ceremony programs. |

| For my wedding I didn't like what the pastor normally does so I was able to change it. He obviously had to keep some parts that make the marriage legal but other than that if you are paying the pastor you should get what you want to say because it is your wedding.

| Hello Nice question. Thanks for sharing this info. A ceremony reading is a piece of prose or poetry that is read aloud during the wedding ceremony. It can be religious or secular in nature and is usually read by a close friend or family member who... You want to choose readings that relate to the life you're living * What are the principal values of your relationship? * What are the qualities you want to encourage in one another? * What do you most want to do for your partner? * What commitment to yourself must you keep to be able to keep a promise of life-long companionship with your partner? * What kind of support do you want from your community for your marriage? Thanks Have a nice time
