Looking for that perfect dress

Where do look for examples to find that great dress? Do you decide by style, accent color, or fit?

I'm trying to decide what kind of dress I want (we haven't even set a date yet, so I am jumping ahead).

But with something so important as THE DRESS its kind of hard to know where to start. I don't want to just go into a store with nothing in mind.
