Most people feel overwhelmed when they are faced with the decision of their honeymoon location. Naturally, newly wed couples will look for the advice of friends and family. Where did our loved ones go for their honeymoon? Was the location exotic? Did it turn out to be everything that they dreamed of? We want to hear every detail of their planned trip. Partially because we’re interested. But mostly because we do not want to duplicate any mistakes. We’re looking for good advice, reasonable accommodations, and an original honeymoon to remember.
Want to find an exciting hot-spot to spend your honeymoon? Of course you do. Sometimes these exotic locations, which are often filled with tourists, can be quite pricey. These days wedding already cost an arm and a leg. If you want a lavish honeymoon, make sure that you can fit it in your budget. Even if that means cutting back on some of your wedding expenses.
Great, you have the budget! Where can you go for your honeymoon? Close your eyes and picture a romantic getaway. Can you see it? Now find a location on the map that fits that visualization. That’s where you’ll spend your honeymoon. What do you imagine as the perfect honeymoon destination? Palm tress? Start thinking Maui - Hawaii or a tropical island. Bright Lights? Las Vegas or New York City, perhaps. Skiing and sitting by a fire lazily on a December morning? What about Colorado or a resort in Canada? Identify the things that you and your spouse have in common. Find activities that you can do together at your honeymoon destination of choice.
If you’re looking for an exotic getaway, you’re best bet is to plan a trip for the Spring or Summer. Make sure that you book your accommodations in advance. The earlier, the better. Remember, tourists and students love to vacation in Cancun, Hawaii, Florida, and tropical islands each spring and summer. You want your honeymoon to be a romantic getaway — not an annoying trip. Avoid places that are known to be frequented by rowdy co-eds.
As you can see, ideal honeymoon destinations can be domestic as well as internationally. Despite this, there are a lot of advantages to honeymooning domestically. Unfortunately, foreign travel often requires a lot of work, including: passports, birth certificates, marriage certificate, immunization, and blood tests (if marrying abroad too). Nevertheless, if you feel you have all of the required documents, medical vaccines, etc… take a trip to an exotic honeymoon destination together.
