Carribbean Weddings & Honeymoons

No matter who you are, Caribbean weddings are fun for you! Both the bride and the groom will love it, as well as the guest that come to it. You can not go wrong when you choose to have a Caribbean wedding, whether it's on a beach or on Caribbean cruises. However, there are a few things that you need to know before you chose to do a Caribbean wedding. Today we are going to talk about these things so you know what to expect.

First of all, there are a few good colors that go great with decorating Caribbean theme weddings. Even when you sign up with Caribbean wedding packages, these are the colors that you are more than likely going to end up with. First you will see a lot of pale blue and sea green colors. These are the colors of the Caribbean water, so it's only fitting that you see these colors in the decorations as well. On top of that, you may see some pink, reds, and yellows as well. However, these festive colors are normally only used for table centerpieces.

Now, the decorations that go with Caribbean theme weddings are nice as well. It's a good idea to add some palm tress to the decorating of your wedding, as well as some seashells. These kinds of beach-like things are going to fit right into the feel of a Caribbean wedding. If your party is going to last until dark, it could also be a lot of fun to add some festive touches as well. Of course, do keep in mind that these need to be away from other decorations to avoid a fire problem. Some people will even go as far as renting a tiki hut. This really add a lot of character to your Caribbean themed wedding.

Also remember that Caribbean weddings always look nicer when you have some tropical flowers out on the tables as well. This adds to the whole feel that Caribbean weddings are suppose to give you. Of course, do not overdo it with the flowers. The truth of the matter is that flowers can cost a whole lot of money, meaning that you will just end up spending too much if you overdo it with the flowers. Take some of that extra money that you were going to spend on the flowers, and use it on other things.

As far as wedding favors go, try to avoid spending too much on them as well. Sure it is nice to give someone a great wedding favor, but it's just going to cost you a lot if you spend close to $10 or $20 per wedding favor. Think of all the people that are coming to the wedding. Lets say that you have 100 people coming to a wedding, which is not really that many, and you are going to spend $20 per person. Well that is $2000 in wedding favors alone! You see how quickly that adds up, so do not get wedding favors that cost too much. Try to keep your wedding favors as low as a few dollars. When you are talking about Caribbean weddings, this could mean getting people some sand and seashells as well. These are cheap to get, but stick to the theme of the wedding as a whole.

For wedding favors, you can choose to get things like Jamaican Rum Cakes or even just some chocolate flip flop lollipops. These are just things that stick to your theme, but really do a great jump of saying thank you. Other people like to give out sparklers for these kinds of weddings. After all, it is suppose to be a fun wedding and sparklers are a lot of fun.

Food is another important part of any kind of wedding. You need to make sure that the food that you get for your wedding fits your theme. Now, for a Caribbean theme wedding, you may want to go with something like some jerked chicken. This is about the same as doing BBQ, but it has more of a Caribbean theme to it. Do note that most Caribbean food is kind of spicy, so if you want it to be traditional, you better have some water on hand to cool down the fire in your mouth. Otherwise, you can always tone down the jerked chicken by not adding as many spices.

Overall, these kinds of weddings are a lot of fun to go to. There will be some ups and downs to planning this kind of wedding, but that is true for any kind of wedding you can have. Just remember that Caribbean weddings are suppose to be fun, so do not let yourself get too stressed out during the planning of it. If you can do that, then you can rest assured that everyone is going to have a good time at your wedding, and that includes you too!
