1 year Anniversary

I am interested in having a 1 year anniversary party. Our wedding was somewhat of a disaster. It was lovely but we did not have the funds available to do what we wanted to. I really would like to have a Luau the Saturday before our first anniversary. Am I crazy to throw a party and mention the fact that our anniversary is the next day. We would then in turn be able to spend our actual anniversary day, just the two of us, out of town or in a local hotel. What do you think is this okay?


Hi Tonia, I think that is a great idea. Sometimes people don't have the money to have the reception they want to so the anniversary party is the perfect way to do what you originally wanted to. Tell people that are attending that you really wanted to have a great party becuase the first wasn't what you wanted...most people will probably be so happy to be apart of it. Getting away that night together and going to a hotel is also a great idea, wake up like you are on a honeymoon somewhere than your own bedroom. Have a great time!
