If the bride's seating is the left and the grooms the right, what side does the Bride and Groom stand on at the alter (their side or the side that would allow their family to see their face (turned side ways for the ceremony)?

Can you tell me the significance of the ringing of bells after the ceremony and the history of this.

Traditionally the bride would stand on the left of the groom, as she walks up on her dads left arm. Traditionaly after a wedding ceremony it is to ring 12 times, signifiying the months of a year.
