Hors d'oeuvres Reception

Name: Barb
Question:

My son and his fiance are getting married in Las Vegas and will have a reception/wedding dance one month later. Most of the relatives will be meeting the bride the night of the reception. We are having an hors d'oeuvres only reception with a dance to follow. I need some suggestions as to: is there anything special the bride and groom should be doing to greet people coming in the door, would there be a bridal table, when should the cake be served, etc. THANKS for any advise.

Generally there is a reception line, and often this can be a tiring even for all involved. the bride, groom wedding party, and parents are often involved. There is a gift table stationed close by so if the guests are handing gifts to the bride and groom it is close enough to not have to be away from the reception line too long. Once a majority of the guests have arrived you are all free to mingle and enjoy the evening.
