March 08 wedding planning issue
Name: Tammy Perkinson
Question:
hi,
My fiance wants to get married before summer so we decide on a March 8th date. that gives me about 3 months to plan a wedding, more a reception than the wedding. he wants a small wedding 10-15 people only and a big reception to follow. my question is: where do i start and in what order do i do things. is there somewhere i can find deadlines i should be planning and a list i can tick off of. i want most of the traditional stuff but i'm 44 and its been a while...;) HELP PLEASE.
thanks
Don't Panic It willbe completely fine=) ...First thigns first. If you are booking a church, now would be the time, if you are having a more informal affair make sure you have the persons in charge of conducting the ceremony booked. Invitiations should go out by january5th(christmas time everyone will lose the invites adn you want no one to forget.) The regular rule is you would like them out about 3 months ahead of time to allow for people to take time off. Next book a venue for the reception and get a jump on catering. If you are having more of a potluck dinner then you can afford to take a little more time with the menu. Next a dress.Dj or music source is next, and bartender or drinks. You need to get your wedding liscence ahead of time.( This is good for 30 days). everything else is the smaller details. Don't forget to refer back to past questions if you need any suggestons on writing invitations. Good luck, and keep me posted! Brandi
