Planning a Wedding for a Friend

Hi,

I was just approached by two of my good friends and was asked to help them plan their wedding which is schedule for the 18th August 2007.
I am not an expert wedding planner but i did some work in decorating a reception hall before and also i decorate for a dinner party.
I am now developin an interest in the field of planner and decorating events like these.
some ideas of how and where to start will help me a lot.

The best way to get involved in the field is to approach your local event planning or wedding planning company and offer to volenteer for them. This is a great way to gain experiance and start up a portfolio. Gennerally you work in withing the team of people and it isn't usually the glamorous jobs you are doing but it gets you an "in" to the business. Most places don't hire people to do this work until they have the proper experiance and knowledge under their belt. I hope you find your "in" and enjoy doing it.
