reception attire

We are getting married oout of town, but planning a big reception when we return. What do I wear to the reception? My wedding dress? A nice dress? Or both? I am not sure what the proper etiquette is. I would appreciate some guidance. Thank you!


Generally you would want to wear a formal outfit but not the wedding dress itself. Dress comfortably but accordingly to what you are expecting your guests to wear. If it is a leisurely reception, dress down abit more, if it is an elegant event dress more formal. Unless your guests are wanting to see you all dolled up in your dress I wouldn't see any reason for wearing it, as it is usually associated to the big day. Congratulations, I hope it is great!
