Banquet halls offer a wide range of services and event options. When considering a venue, it is important to visit the location and meet with the event planner or banquet facility manager. The reception hall may include flowers, favors, linens, tableware or other reception items. The costs of the additional services may be ala carte or may be included in the overall reception price.

It is important to know what menu items are the standard service for the banquet hall. If the banquet facility reception standard is a buffet and you are hoping for sit-down service, this may not be the best fit. When a facility reaches beyond their comfort zone, sometimes things get bumpy. Find a banquet hall that works for the type of meal you have in mind. It is important that the venue works not just in appearance and size but also in terms of reception quality.

Table and chair rental, tableware and décor may be included in the price, or you may need to rent these items from a vendor. In some cases the banquet facility may have cooperative agreements with specific vendors, again be certain to discuss what can and can’t be brought in, what is included and what will be an extra charge. Some halls want you to use their baker for the cake, their bartender for the liquor and service or specific music or DJ services.
